Govind Wildlife Sanctuary
Govind wild life Sanctuary and National Park is located in a remote area in the district Uttarkashi. It is a very oldest wild life sanctuary in northern India. The region is covered with snow throughout winter. A vast variety of uncommon and endangered species of medicinal plants are prevalent in the Sanctuary. The wild variety of animal species that lives here includes Himalayan Snow Leopard, Black Brown Bear, Snow Monal, Musk Dear, Himalayan Thar, Mountain Goat, Golden Eagle, Mahashere are the most significant fishes found in the sanctuary. There are over 150 species of birds and 25 species of Mammals.
